L’argilla di Ischia, un biofarmaco di 3000 anni fa

Gli antichi abitanti dell’Isola d’Ischia avevano imparato ad utilizzare non solo le acque termali, ma anche lòa creta e l’argilla per curare malattie e ritemprarsi nel corpo e nell’anima.

L’argilla ischitana deriva da pirociastiti e cineriti di diversa origine vulcanica ed è ricca di incredibili qualità terapeutiche esaltate da elementi radioattivi (radon) che conferiscono a questo incredibile prodotto della natura un’unicità curativa confermata da studi e ricerche scentifiche. Essiccata al sole, l’argilla è conservata in vasi di terracotta per essere utilizzata in vari modi, preparando cataplasmi (miscela di acqua e argilla con l’aggiunta di olio d’oliva) utili nelle cefalee, nevralgie, in caso di febbre ed otite. Soluzioni di argilla e erbe erano utili in caso di faringiti, tonsilliti e di tutte le infezioni delle prime viee respiratoire. Anche in caso di distorsioni si preparavano intrugli a base di argilla, parietaria e bianco d’uovo, la “stoppata”.

Consueto era il bagno nelle acque calde dell’Isola d’Ischia, preceduto da un’infarinatura nell’argilla. Questo bagno possiede un elevato potere tonico ed energizzante, oltre a rigenerare lo strato dermico, rendendolo fresco e levigato (effetto peeling ed antirughe). Nelle persone anziane il bagno svolge un benefico effetto nella cura dei disturbi circolatori e nell’affaticamento psicofisico.

Nella cosmesi l’argilla ridotta in polvere finissima e miscelata con olii essenziali ed erbe medicinali, svolgeva un sicuro effetto ringiovanente del viso con evidente attività rigenerante ed idratante.
